Building Connection with Sound, Movement, and Play
This experiential workshop offers caregivers in dementia care practical tools inspired by the art of therapeutic clowning, with a focus on music and movement. Through playful, hands-on activities, participants will explore group music-making, movement-based connection through mirroring, and the subtle dynamics of working in pairs. Emphasis will be placed on reading and responding sensitively to the cues of those in our care. Caregivers will leave with creative, accessible techniques—simple “tips and tricks”—to foster connection, joy, and presence in their day-to-day work and communities.
