ABOUT
Dance Nova Scotia is the provincial umbrella organization supporting and advancing all forms of dance across Nova Scotia. Founded in 1974 and incorporated in 1975, the organization serves as a connector, advocate, and resource for the province’s diverse dance community.
As one of eight provincial cultural service organizations within the Cultural Federations of Nova Scotia, Dance Nova Scotia works to strengthen the role of dance through education, community engagement, professional development, and accessible programming. The organization is a registered charitable organization governed by a community-elected Board of Directors.
Dance For Health - The Power of Movement in Care
Explore how movement, music, and social connection can support healthier aging and improve quality of life for older adults living with Parkinson’s and Dementia. This workshop introduces Dance for Health: Seniors, a province-wide initiative from Dance Nova Scotia that brings gentle, community-based dance and movement programming to seniors and caregivers across Nova Scotia.
Participants will experience simple, adaptable movement activities while learning how dance can support mobility, emotional well-being, creativity, and connection in safe and supportive community settings.
