Jill Barber is a Canadian singer-songwriter born on February 6, 1980, in Port Credit, Ontario. Known for her warm, vintage-inspired sound, she blends folk, jazz, and French chanson. She began her music career in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and gained national attention with her 2006 album For All Time.

Her 2008 album Chances marked a shift to a jazzier style and featured the title track later used in Orange Is the New Black. She has released several French-language albums, including Chansons (2013) and Encore! (2024). In 2016, she collaborated with her brother Matthew Barber on The Family Album, which won a Juno Award.
